What’s New? May 2024 Update!

Since my most recent update last year (yikes!), my life has been a revolving door of change. I’m excited to deliver both an update and share some future plans that are in the works for me and Jaidynn!

What’s New?

I’m a Fohr!

On January 4, Jaidynn and I got married! We had an amazing time celebrating with our friends and family, many of whom traveled a long way to Colorado for the occasion. It was the perfect end of our long-distance relationship (praise God!) and the perfect beginning to our life together.

We moved into an apartment together in Englewood Colorado, only about 10 minutes from the office where Jaidynn works. We’ve enjoyed hosting game nights for friends, baking muffins, building Legos, and reading to each other—it’s been a valuable (and idealistic) start to our journey as we learn to love and serve one another better!

I’m a Moody Grad!

After getting married, I completed the spring semester of my senior year online from Colorado. On May 18, my family and I traveled to Moody where I graduated with a BA in Applied Linguistics! It was bittersweet to close such a significant chapter of my life, but I look forward to taking a break from classes, and it was so sweet getting to celebrate with my friends in Chicago!

I’m Teaching Again!

Those of you who have known me for a long time know that I love Artios Academies: it is a homeschool companionship program that I attended in high school and taught at during my gap year (you can read more about my gap year here!). This spring, I had the opportunity to step in and teach History, Art, Theater, and Music for their K-2nd class, and it was such a blast!

Jaidynn and I also had the opportunity to start serving in youth ministry at our long-time home church, Calvary Castle Rock. I helped with the middle school girls Bible study as we went through Ecclesiastes, and it was a huge blessing getting reconnected with our church community in this way!

What’s Next?

This is the big question we’ve both been getting, and the big picture answer is the same as it was a year ago: Bible translation! We both are still prayerfully stepping forward towards that goal, and we ask that you continue to come alongside us in praying that God would open the right doors. For now, these are the next steps we are taking!

Step 1: Working!

A glimpse at Jaidynn’s work!

Right now, Jaidynn and I both feel that we need to pay off most of our student loans before taking the next step towards mission. We plan to stay in Colorado for at least another year to work and save–Jaidynn in his job as an Accessibility Engineer at Spectrum and me through teaching at Artios. This fall, I’m excited to be teaching History for upper elementary through high school, as well as middle school Worldview!

We will both also continue to serve in youth ministry through the summer and into the next school year. I was asked to lead the middle school girls Bible study this fall, which I’m especially excited about! I’m hoping to take them through the book of Hebrews, so please pray for me as I begin preparing for that.

Step 2: Grad School and Beyond!

Prepping my history lesson at Artios!

Sometime next summer, I hope to get into grad school to start working towards a MA in Linguistics. This extra training will give me the opportunity to delve more into linguistics, biblical languages, and other cross-cultural education that would help me better serve as a translation specialist in the future. I’ve been looking specifically at the programs at Dallas International University and the Canada Institute for Linguistics, but Jaidynn and I will crunch the numbers to make a decision when time gets closer! Hopefully after that, we will have made some connections to have a better idea of where God wants us to take our gifts to serve Him.

As always, please reach out and connect with us! We would love to be praying for you as well. We are so grateful for your support and prayers as we begin this journey together

  1. I love hearing all the updates and plans. Praying for God to continue leading you through adventures near and far.

  2. Audrey, it was a blessing for me to be a part of your beautiful romantic wedding. You and Jaidynn not only looked so much in love with one another, but you were selflessly extending your love to us, your friends and family in greeting each and everyone of us individually. Audrey, thank you for also sharing with us your romantic engagement moments through your creative table decorations. They also added as conversation pieces at the tables. Your videos brought tears to my eyes as I remembered those precious moments that I shared with you as you were growing up to become the beautiful woman who you are now, Mrs. Fohr. Wow! I am impressed in the plans that you and Jaidynn have made regarding your ministry and your student loans. May the Lord bless your home always and your amazing love for one another. 💕
